As the founder of a financial advisory firm, I quickly learned the value of collaborating with CPA’s and other tax professionals when designing financial plans for my clients.

When I became a national coach and started my speaking tour of how to run a well diversified financial advisory firm, I found many quality advisors and CFP’s around the country that have the same need for network partnership with good tax professionals. However, they were unable to solidify a good working relationship that was dependable, high-quality, and more important than anything else, non-adversarial with a CPA.

Furthermore, the problem I found was that even if a financial advisory firm did its work with tax professionals, those relationships would become interrupted at the most inopportune time.

Their CPA partner would have a family health emergency, or similar reason why they suddenly could not depend on an outcome at the most crucial time of the plan's development, making the financial advisor look bad, even though the problem ultimately had little to do with him.

All of this is why I began my search for a more permanent solution to the problem, and why I am so happy to now be the co-founder of www.taxwhatif.com and www.taxprepbackoffice.com. It solved all of the issues of control and quality. Our service allows an insurance agent or financial advisor to be the "tax preparer" in the eyes of their clients, yet leaves few of the responsibilities, and none of the problems that come with being a preparer.
